In 2015, Creative Digital was contacted by a brand new initiative “Eat My Lunch”, to build their Stage One website. Eat My Lunch was launched to make it easy for Kiwis to help other Kiwis. With the help of award-winning chef Michael Meredith, they hope to alleviate a nationwide issue by creating a change through something as routine as eating lunch.

To meet the clients initial budget, we chose to heavily customise the Opencart framework into a fully-fledged subscription application. Using the existing open source framework allowed quick development using an already robust platform. The website was hosted at Linode.com which allowed full customisation of the Linux server including Cron (automated) jobs running daily. Paired with the Cloudflare Content Distribution Network (CDN), the website has been extremely fast to load for New Zealand visitors while being hosting on an international server. Cloudflare has also provided a layer of security against Denial-of-service (DOS) attacks. The server is also scanned daily for Malware.

Government Alone Can’t Solve Society’s Biggest Problems

World hunger. Climate change. Crumbling infrastructure. It’s clear that in today’s era of fiscal constraints and political gridlock, we can no longer turn to government alone to tackle these and other towering social problems. What’s required is a new, more collaborative and productive economic system. The Solution Revolution brings hope—revealing just such a burgeoning new economy where players from across the spectrum of business, government, philanthropy, and social enterprise converge to solve big problems and create public value.

Eat My Lunch since launch has seen massive growth and we are extremely happy with how the website has performed under high traffic loads. We look forward to seeing Stage Two launch shortly.
